Following the dharma-cookie about analyzing love, I’ve been reflecting on how love unfolds through all layers of consciousness -and that we’re built from love, which is why we feel emotion.

If Unality is the Yin-essence of love and Pre-Duality is love as pure intention, does that place Pre-Duality in the realm of Yang-Divinity? And if so, is Yang the will, wisdom, and creative spark that, when paired with Yin-love, begins the soul’s unfoldment? I’m struck again and again by how deeply this framework reveals that we’re emotive beings first.

I love your question and how you’re putting things together. The key distinction is that the predual isn’t pure intention, which would be yang as you say. It’s pure capacity, which is yin. It doesn’t move or want to move. That would be a feature and it has none. It’s the divine womb.

Ahhh, that makes much more sense. I kept getting stuck on the word “intention,” hearing it as movement. But if the predual has no movement or direction, then it would naturally be Yin, not Yang.

So intention here is really pure capacity...a loving womb-space that holds the possibility of us, a space that “wants” us into being. And that loving capacity is the very first spark of love that we’re made from?

Even “wanting” is too much. A blank canvas just sits there and allows for anything to be put on it. It doesn’t want or not want to be painted. It just receives. That’s pure yin.

Lol -I keep projecting movement onto the blank canvas. It just is -got it! 🙏

Yeah, the mind can't help but try to make it into something. Even "capacity" is a bit much. Stace uses "capacitousness" to undo the solidity of the noun. I've Adya call it pure potentiality, but that's got some Sainthood in it because he's not a pure Zen teacher, but I don't think realizes that. ;-) I think, like me, he's a Raphaelite, and it's not as possible to separate the two hoods out as easily at that the more porous soul species. They blend a lot for me too...
